This is the official App of South Wolverhampton and Bilston Academy in the West Midlands.

SWB Academy opened the doors to its brand new building in September 2012 and has rapidly established itself as the number one choice for secondary education in the local area.

Here you’ll find the latest information on the Academy for students, parents, staff and visitors.

At SWB Academy we are passionate about providing the best education for our young people:

· Outstanding Behaviour – our students are expected to be outstanding and respond to this. Their behaviour in lessons and around the Academy is exemplary. Bullying is rare and not tolerated. Students remain on site all day to ensure their safety and a nutritious lunch service is provided.

· Outstanding Attendance – we have above average attendance rates nationally. Students enjoy coming to the Academy as lessons are stimulating and the environment is engaging.

· Outstanding Facilities – we have one of the best learning environments to be created for many years! It is receiving national acclaim for its design and its positive impact on the lives of our young people.

· Innovative Curriculum – which is designed to meet the needs of all students, wherever they are on their learning journey, we ensure they make good progress and track this closely to make sure this is maintained at all times.

· Student Support Centre – which offers dedicated one to one care and support for those students who need it, including those with Special Educational Needs

· Outstanding Transport – we provide transport to and from our new building on managed coaches. Transport Supervisors look after our students from the moment they arrive at the bus stop, to the moment they arrive at the Academy. Bus stops are flexible and cover the Parkfields, Blakenhall, Ettingshall, Coseley and Sedgley areas. We review our service every year so may be able to accommodate alternative requests.

· Enrichment – we provide an enrichment programme of over 60 clubs and groups which students can participate in. Our students have the opportunities to quite literally go around the world and see different cultures and lifestyles. We believe in finding a student’s talent or interest and nurturing this.

· Rounded Individuals – we recognise that success is achieved through many factors and we are focussed on the ‘whole’ individual. It’s not just about academic achievement, but about support, encouragement and the skills to succeed in the 21st century.

· Practical Solutions – our terms work in line with the standard three term year for parents who have children at local Primary Schools.
